Since I began running a voice analysis lab at the New England Conservatory in 2013, I have been fascinated by the research projects that emerge when voice practitioners are given tools that remove technical challenges to analysis. Garcia II did not invent the dentist’s mirror, nor was he the first person to view the vocal folds with one. But the right tool in the right hands can do marvelous things.
The EML Research Tools are a set of Praat plug-ins that will let you carry out detailed analysis of several bio-dynamic parameters of voicing without needing to understand how to write your own scripts.
